Road Identification Through Efficient Edge Segmentation Based on Morphological Operations

Road identification from high-precision images is important to programmed mapping, urban planning, and updating geographic information system (GIS) databases. Manual of roads slow, costly, prone errors. Therefore, it a hot topic among remote sensing experts develop techniques for road satellite images. The main challenge lies in the variation width surface contents between roads. This paper presents extraction strategy strategy, denoted as ESMIRMO, recognizes through edge segmentation, using morphological operations. Specifically, operations were employed enhance quality original image, laying good basis accurate detection. Next, segmentation was adopted detect image accurately. After that, proposed compared with traditional methods. comparison shows that our could identify more accurately than methods, overcome many their limitations. Overall, manages images, pinpoint enhanced provide drivers repairers real-time on conditions.
